UNE NOUVELLE (socio-éco) LOGIQUE ?

En 2010, La Fondation Nicolas Hulot a fêté ses 20 ans …en nous projetant dans 20 ans. Ses invités, de Tim Jackson à  Ellen Mc Arthur en passant par Günter Pauli et autres  grands acteurs du monde économique, nous ont rappelé que nous avons une révolution à mener. « Nous » ? Nous, tous les sachants occidentalisés. Parce qu’informés, nous sommes investis. Alertés donc sommés d’agir.

« Révolution » ? Pas celle d’un « monde meilleur » dont la vision exalta quelques révolutionnaires passés. Un monde dont la ligne d’horizon recule au fur et à mesure qu’on avance. Non, il s’agit maintenant de rendre le monde possible. Désormais on souhaite, on désire, voire, on exige, on ne promet plus.

Comment? En renversant nos postures mentales et en expérimentant. Hier, j’ai donné un nouveau sens à une fulgurance d’Antonin Artaud : « nous recruterons bientôt des actifs bouleversés » disait-il.

Alors que Tim Jackson propose une prospérité sans croissance, Günter Pauli accompagne concrètement le Bhoutan dans la progression de son indice du bonheur.  Tandis qu’un autre intervenant suggère l’édification d’une « démocratie économique », le patron du DD de l’Oréal,  nous raconte la mise en place d’une micro-économie circulaire au sein du leader mondial de la Beauté, saluant au passage celle du monde !

Ce qui suit n’est pas un résumé des échanges extraordinairement stimulants impulsés par la Fondation Nicolas Hulot le 16 décembre 2010 mais notre point de vue que l’on souhaite à la fois contextuel et complémentaire :

La mondialisation des échanges de biens et services et la généralisation du consumérisme ne consacrent pas tant le règne du capitalisme que la primauté de l’économie sur toutes les autres nécessités humaines. L’économie ne va pas disparaître. Elle a pris le dessus sur la religion (sur Rome et les pouvoirs royaux qui s’en réclamaient) puis sur le positivisme (les régimes dits communistes – soviétique ou maoïste- avaient bâti leur idéologie sur le socle de la pensée d’Auguste Comte au moins autant que sur celle de Lénine !). Fort d’une domination séculaire et sans partage, le règne de l’économie marchande ne s’évanouira pas de sitôt : celui ou celle qui a gravi les premiers échelons de la pyramide de Maslow ne veut plus redescendre. Mais une fois dans les hauteurs, d’autres mobiles humains s’imposent et disputent à l’économie de marché sa primauté…ces mobiles sont d’ordre socio-écologiques.

On mesure désormais l’impasse économique : en suivant sa grande pulsion historique industrielle, l’exploitation, l’économie de marché ne pourra atteindre son objectif d’enrichissement généralisé. Pourquoi ? Parce que cet enrichissement repose sur un principe d’extraction, c’est-à-dire d’appauvrissement de ressources…finies ! Si chaque foyer chinois devait s’équiper d’une voiture, la Terre ne saurait nous prodiguer le zinc!

L’Humanité ne peut donc plus se faire au moyen de l’économie mais doit faire des économies de moyens.

Comment substituer à une approche binaire, où production et consommation s’annulent, un paradigme circulaire, où chaque création ou destruction  de valeur, chaque flux ou transaction doit résolument transiter par deux autres points cardinaux ?
